Dominican Sisters of Blauvelt To Celebrate National Catholic Sisters Week
BLAUVELT, NY (2/29/2016) - The Dominican Sisters of Blauvelt will participate in National Catholic Sisters Week, an annual celebration that honors women religious that takes place from March 8-14, 2016. The Rockland County Legislature will also recognize National Catholic Sisters Week and the Dominican Sisters of Blauvelt with a proclamation that was introduced by Legislator Patrick Moroney.
“We are happy that national exposure is being given to women religious and their current ministries through the promotion of National Catholic Sisters Week. The Proclamation by the Legislature, recognizing the women’s religious congregations in the county, is a great honor. We are grateful to Legislator Moroney for introducing it,” said Sister Michaela Connolly, O.P.
Also, during the celebration, the Dominican Sisters of Blauvelt will host the following National Catholic Sisters Week events:
Wednesday, March 9 - Lenten Lecture & Film Series – “The Ninth Day” with Sister Miriam Catherine Nevins at 1 PM at the Motherhouse
Friday, March 11 – Live Stream “Ask A Sister” with Sister Michaela at 9:30 AM on the Dominican Sisters of Blauvelt Facebook Page
Sunday, March 13 – Celtic Tea at 2 PM at the Motherhouse
