Embracing Faith Through Giving: #GivingTuesdayNow

By Katie Beckmann Mahon, Communications Manager

This week’s “Embracing Faith” article will focus on Embracing Faith through Giving.

Embracing Faith Through Giving

“Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due when it is in your power to act.”

-Proverbs 3:27

People around the world have had their lives changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Many have suffered and recovered from coronavirus, while others have lost loved ones.

Millions of people have lost their jobs, whereas many offices have closed and employees have been working remotely.

As a society, we’ve become more reliant on technology to perform our daily tasks and stay connected with others.

While this “new normal” has been tough to adapt, we’ve also seen a spotlight shine on communities that are stepping up to support those who are most in need.

Communities such as the Sisters of Saint Dominic of Blauvelt, New York, have continued to bring hope and mercy to those who are most vulnerable through their ministries, programs, and advocacy.

During this pandemic, Sisters and Associates have adapted their ministry responsibilities to follow social distancing while serving others through education, healthcare, social services, homeless shelters, pastoral work, prayer, as well as programs for the mentally ill, and chemically addicted.

As the Sisters of Saint Dominic continue their ministries during these uncertain times, it is important to support them, their mission, and work.
