Embracing Faith Through Mindfulness

“There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.” -Proverbs 23:18

With a new year and decade upon us, comes a new sense of hope, optimism, determination, and ambitious New Year Resolutions.

Whether it’s losing weight, exercising more, quitting smoking, learning new skills, eating healthier, saving money, spending more time with loved ones, traveling more, or spending less time using electronics, a kept New Year Resolution can change your life for the better.

While popular New Year Resolutions tend to focus more on our looks and material items, many of us forget about faith-filled goals and intentions that can have just as equally a significant impact on our lives.

If you are still looking for New Year Resolutions, here are three faith-filled ones for 2020.

  1. Go to Confession – It’s a sacrament that we often neglect, and yet, it’s vital to our faith and spiritual health. If you have an opportunity to attend Confession at your local Church, make sure to go, unburden yourself, and accept God’s mercy and forgiveness. You’ll be thankful that you did.

  2. Attend Daily Mass – Instead of attending church just once a week, try strengthening your faith by attending daily mass. Attending daily mass is a great opportunity to improve your relationship with God, as well as pray consistently.

  3. Read more Spiritual Writings – Whether it’s scriptures in the Bible or other books by Catholic authors, increasing your spiritual reading can help strengthen your faith, as well as give you consistent daily motivation and inspiration.
