This week’s “Embracing Faith” article will focus on Embracing Faith through Ministry.
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds….”
-Matthew 5:16
If you are a Dominican University New York student or alumni, chances are you know Sr. Barbara McEneany, OP.
Sr. Barbara, a Sister of Saint Dominic of Blauvelt, New York, has ministered at DUNY for over 30 years in the school’s Campus Ministry and has been a regular presence in all aspects of University Life.
As Director of Campus Ministry, Sr. Barbara assists all students, faculty, and staff with fostering their spiritual growth and involvement in community service programs. She also offers the DUNY community weekly liturgies, retreats, prayer gatherings, and informal pastoral counseling.
It is because of Sr. Barbara’s impact on the DUNY community and her involvement in local Dominican Young Adult USA groups that she will be recognized at the Dominican Youth Movement USA’s upcoming Virtual Gala with the Sister Patricia Brady Award in March 2023.
The Dominican Youth Movement USA group has had a longstanding mission of connecting youth and young adults to the tradition of Dominican Preaching and fostering their call to preach. Any proceeds from their upcoming Virtual Gala will help them continue to provide quality opportunities for youth and young adults to develop a foundation to become leaders in their communities. (1)
