A Prayer for 2022

By Katie Beckmann Mahon, Communications Manager

This week’s “Embracing Faith” article will focus on Embracing Faith through Prayer.

Embracing Faith Through Prayer

“There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.” -Proverbs 23:18

As 2021 comes to an end, there is a lot to be grateful for as we head into the New Year.

From a miracle vaccine being made, produced, and distributed worldwide to moving forward and learning to live with the pandemic, there is a lot to look forward to in 2022.

Even though we continue to move forward and put the pandemic behind us, there is still uncertainty in the world, as in some cases, many of us feel more divided than ever.

Regardless of your outlook for the New Year, let us come together and pray for peace in 2022.

For Peace in the New Year (1)

At the start of each day, help us to recognize you above all else.

Enlighten the eyes of our heart that we might see you,

and notice how you’re at work through our lives.

Give us the wisdom to make the best choices,

fill us with a desire to seek after you

more than anything else in this world.

Let your Spirit and power breathe in us,

through us, again, fresh and new.

Thank you that you are greater

than anything, we may face in our day.

Thank you that your presence goes with us

and that your joy is never dependent on our circumstances,

but it is our true and lasting strength,

no matter what we’re up against.

We ask that your peace lead us,

that it would guard our hearts and minds in you.

We ask for your grace to cover our lives this day.
