Embracing Faith Through Prayer

“I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh.” -Ezekiel 11:19 In a few hours, many of us will gather with loved ones to celebrate the end of a year and the beginning of a new one. Some may be relieved that 2019 is coming to an end, while others will be planning out their goals and resolutions for 2020, and yet there will be many who are just excited to have January 1st off from work or school. Regardless of your outlook on the New Year, it is important to end 2019 and start 2020 with prayer. A Prayer to Keep God First This New Year (1) Dear God, Thank you that you make all things new. Thank you for all that you've allowed into our lives this past year, the good along with the hard things, which have reminded us how much we need you and rely on your presence filling us every single day. We pray for your Spirit to lead us each step of this New Year. We ask that you will guide our decisions and turn our hearts to deeply desire you, above all else. We ask that you will open doors needing to be opened and close the ones needing to be shut tight. Shine your light in us, through us, over us. May we make a difference in this world, for your glory and purposes. Set you way before us. May all your plans succeed. May we reflect your peace and hope to a world that so desperately needs your presence and healing. To you be glory and honor, in this New Year, and forever. In Gods’ name, Amen.
