Rockland County Legislature Recognizes National Catholic Sisters Week
BLAUVELT, NY (3/8/2016) - The Rockland County Legislature recognized National Catholic Sisters Week, an annual celebration that honors women religious that takes place from March 8-14, 2016, with a proclamation that was introduced by Legislator Patrick Moroney.
“We are happy that national exposure is being given to women religious and their current ministries through the promotion of National Catholic Sisters Week. The Proclamation by the Legislature, recognizing the women’s religious congregations in the county, is a great honor. We are grateful to Legislator Moroney for introducing it,” said Sister Michaela Connolly, O.P.
The Proclamation by the Rockland County Legislature marks only the second time in the nation where National Catholic Sisters Week has been recognized. The first Proclamation was done by the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2014.
